About Department

The department of commerce was established since inception of the college in the year 1979 The department started with the under graduate program (B.Com) and has further commenced post graduate program (M.Com) in the year 1990 The Department aims at development of overall academic excellence of both teachers and students and to impart knowledge and learning among the students. The department has 9 teaching post and capacity to intake 180 students in UG and 60 students in P.G program. The faculties have also been recognized as research guide and have shown academic and research excellence. The department has adopted and made use of the ICT tools in enhancing effective teaching. The faculties continuously make efforts to motivate the students to think laterally and out-of-the-box to generate innovative ideas.

The department has organized several workshops, orientation programs, seminars, guest lectures and intra-departmental competitions, the faculties of the department consistently encourages the students to participate in Sports, NSS, NCC, Rovers/Rangers and other extra-curricular activities. The department maintains an intra-departmental library developed by the faculties of the department. The library is well equipped with standard reference books required for NET and other competitive examinations. The department also runs extra classes for preparation of competitive examinations such as UPSC, UPPSC, IBPS, and NET-JRF etc. The department is also providing spiritual education (Through Bhagvat Geeta) among students for their overall development.

The faculty has an active student council which works for the welfare of the students under the guidance of the faculties. The department has produced various meritorious students in overall university examination of UG and PG program and students have also won District, State and National Level Sports and other competitions. The Department has a proud lineage of alumni who are highly placed in the public and private sectors like Govt. PSU, Government departments, educational institutions, various industries and professional services.
